About
Hou Wei is a Chinese takeaway at 896 Chester Road in Stretford, M32 0PA, doing delivery and collection; its own ordering site quotes 45 to 60 minutes for delivery and 15 to 20 minutes for collection. It opens at 4pm every day except Tuesday, when it is closed, and shuts at 10pm, or 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Orders on 0161 864 2303. The menu runs to about 200 numbered items, including a separate 43-dish vegetarian menu of soups, starters, mains and rice and noodles made with meat-free chicken, ribs and tofu. Older listings describe it as a gluten-free house, but the current online menu does not label any dish gluten-free, so coeliacs should confirm with the kitchen when ordering. Trafford Council rated its food hygiene 3 out of 5, generally satisfactory, at an inspection on 1 June 2026, scoring it 5 on hygienic food handling and 10 each on the condition of the premises and on confidence in management, where a lower score is better and zero is the best available. OpenStreetMap records the unit's previous name as China Garden.
