Altrincham play FC United at Broadhurst Park on Tuesday at 7.45pm after a 0-0 draw. Tickets from £15, a first round place at stake, and no trams home.
Altrincham go to FC United of Manchester on Tuesday 20 October for an Emirates FA Cup replay. Kick-off at Broadhurst Park in Moston is 7.45pm.
The winners reach the first round proper, the stage where Football League clubs join the competition. The draw for that round is tonight, before the replay is played.
How Saturday finished 0-0
The fourth qualifying round tie at the J.Davidson Stadium on Saturday 17 October ended goalless. The crowd was 3,005, including 1,017 FC United fans (Altrincham FC match report).
The club’s report describes a dominant Alty display without a winner:
- Tom Crawford had a curling shot tipped away by FC United keeper Dan Atherton, and a second effort was cleared off the line.
- Otis Khan was named man of the match.
- Harry Isted saved from Adam Le Fondre in the second half, and held his late chance in the final minute.
- Leo Farrell made his full debut, and Kristian Dennis came on after injury.
Tickets for Tuesday
FC United are the hosts, so tickets are sold through them online. Altrincham FC published the prices on Sunday (Altrincham FC: replay tickets):

Altrincham’s Cheshire Senior Cup tie against Warrington Town, which was due at Moss Lane on Tuesday, will be rearranged. Tickets already bought stay valid for the new date.
What is at stake
The FA’s prize fund for 2026-27 pays £9,375 to each fourth qualifying round winner and £3,125 to each loser. A first round win is worth £47,750, and a first round defeat still earns £15,800 (The FA: Emirates FA Cup prize fund).
The first round draw is live from 6.30pm on Monday 19 October on TNT Sports 1, HBO Max and the TNT Sports YouTube channel. Altrincham and FC United share ball 58 (Altrincham FC: draw details). So by Tuesday’s kick-off both sides will know who the winner plays.
Getting there with no trams on the Altrincham line
The replay falls in the second day of the Metrolink closure. No trams run on the Altrincham line until Sunday 1 November, and the club itself has flagged it to fans.
The direct shuttle bus from Altrincham Interchange to Piccadilly runs only from 7am to 7pm (TfGM: major tram works), so it is no use for the journey home. The train is the way back:
- Northern trains from Altrincham to Manchester Piccadilly leave at 57 minutes past the hour, the 5.57pm arriving at 6.25pm.
- After the match, trains from Manchester Piccadilly to Altrincham leave at 10.10pm and 11.13pm. The 11.13pm, arriving at 11.40pm, is the last one listed for Tuesday night (National Rail timetable via traintimes.org.uk).
For the ground itself, FC United’s nearest tram stop is Newton Heath and Moston, just under a mile from Broadhurst Park, on the Rochdale line (FC United: by tram). During the works, TfGM says Rochdale line trams terminate at Exchange Square, by Victoria station, rather than running through the city centre.
Driving? FC United’s own car park costs £5, cash on the day, and the club asks fans to book ahead by emailing office@fc-utd.uk. It asks fans not to park on the streets off St Mary’s Road (FC United: by car). The ground is at 310 Lightbowne Road, Moston, M40 0FJ.
What it means for you
If you are going, buy your ticket online from FC United before you travel. Plan to come home by train from Piccadilly, not by the tram shuttle. A 7.45pm kick-off leaves the 10.10pm tight and the 11.13pm as the safe option.
Our roadworks and travel page has the rest of this fortnight’s tram closure, and our shuttle bus guide has its times and tickets.
