Altytude Fitness has opened in the Stamford Quarter: coached classes seven days a week, from £99.99 a month for eight classes and £34.50 for teenagers.
A new gym has opened in Altrincham town centre. Altytude Fitness is now trading in the Stamford Quarter, and it runs coached group classes seven days a week.
Its founder, Peter Lee, lives in Altrincham. The opening was announced on 6 October by Altrincham BID, the town’s business improvement district, with comments from the Stamford Quarter’s landlord, Bruntwood, and from Trafford Council.
What it costs
The announcement gives three membership prices:
| Membership | Price |
|---|---|
| Eight classes a month | £99.99 a month |
| Unlimited classes | £149.99 a month |
| Teenagers aged 13 to 17 | £34.50 a month |
Class packs are also sold. The announcement does not give their prices, or the gym’s opening hours.
How it works
Altytude calls itself a “hybrid” gym. The classes mix strength, endurance and functional fitness, and every workout is led by a coach and tracked by heart-rate monitor. The idea is that beginners and regular gym-goers can share a class, each working at their own intensity.
- More than 40 classes a week, set to music.
- Technogym Skill Line equipment, with workouts recorded in Technogym’s app.
- A fitness “Check-Up” covering six areas of fitness, included with memberships and class packs. It is optional, and is meant to give a starting point to measure progress against.
- A communal area open to members and non-members, which the gym says will host wellness events.
Peter Lee said: “Altytude is about creating a space where everyone feels welcome, whatever their age, ability or where they are in their fitness journey.”
Henry Oglesby, commercial manager at Bruntwood, said it was “fantastic to welcome Altytude Fitness to the Stamford Quarter, especially as the business has been founded by an Altrincham resident.”
Another letting for the Stamford Quarter
The BID lists Altytude as the latest of several recent openings and lettings in the Stamford Quarter, after Superdrug, FatFace and The Stretch Station. The shopping area is run by Bruntwood with Trafford Council.
The landlord and the council also want to add offices above the shops. We reported those plans in August.
What it means for you
- Before you join: ask the gym for its class pack prices and opening times, as neither was published with the announcement. Teenagers aged 13 to 17 have their own rate of £34.50 a month.
- Getting there: the Stamford Quarter is a short walk from Altrincham Interchange. There are no trams on the Altrincham line from 19 October to 1 November; our tram closure page has the shuttle bus times. Driving? See parking in Altrincham.
