Radiologist Dr Sivasankari Babu, 44, came third at the Mrs India Worldwide 2026 final in Trinidad and Tobago, representing the UK, on 1 October. In her words.

A radiologist and mother of three from the Manchester area has been placed at an international pageant. Dr Sivasankari Babu, 44, represented the United Kingdom at the Mrs India Worldwide 2026 grand finale in Trinidad and Tobago on 1 October and was named Second Runner-Up, which puts her third in the final.

She wrote to The Alty Post to tell readers about it, and about what else fills her life.

A doctor in cancer care, and a dancer

Dr Babu works in cancer care as a radiologist. Outside the hospital, she says, her time goes on Indian classical dance, singing and art, and on keeping cultural heritage alive.

“Alongside my career in cancer care, I’m passionate about Indian classical dance, singing, art and preserving cultural heritage,” she writes. “I also believe strongly in ‘healing beyond medicine’ and the role creativity and the arts can play in wellbeing.”

Why she says it matters to her daughters

She has three daughters, and she says they are a large part of the reason she took part.

“As a mother of three girls, I hope to show them that women can combine a professional career, family life, cultural traditions, creativity and personal ambitions,” she writes.

The charity side

Dr Babu says charity work runs alongside the pageants. At Mrs Asia Great Britain 2025 she raised £1,500 for Birmingham Mind and received a Fundraising Queen award, she says. She has kept that going since: she recently completed a 10K charity walk with her three daughters.

“Charity is also important to me,” she writes. “I continue to take part in charitable activities.”

What it means for you

Dr Babu says she wants the story to reach people locally and has offered to be interviewed. If you run a school, community group, dance class or charity in Altrincham, Sale or Hale and would like to hear from her, write to us at hello@altypost.co.uk and we will pass your message on.
